Insurance provider based in Allentown, PA with 500+ employees.
We first engaged with the customer over 6 years ago when they expressed concerns about aging systems and their need for proactive support and management. They were interested in a solution that could scale and provide a proven Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity strategy. The customer wanted to free up internal IT resources so they could focus on growing the business, not managing IT.
Contour engaged their Professional Services team to run assessments that would identify inefficiencies and vulnerabilities in the existing environment. The Contour team identified that the environment had been over-provisioned leading to performance issues and the existing DR strategy had not been tested or updated in 3 years.
Contour presented the client with a Dedicated Private Cloud (DPC) environment that would replace all existing infrastructure. Contour also augmented the customer IT staff with a 24x7x365 Managed Services solution so the customers internal team could focus on developing the application. Additionally, Contour implemented a proven Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Business Continuity solution that is tested and validated several times per year. This wholistic solution has helped the business advance its application development while significantly reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Financial Services company based in New York, NY with 200+ employees.
When Contour was introduced to the customer, the management team was highly concerned that there were security vulnerabilities within the environment. Additionally, New York State was implementing a mandatory Cybersecurity Regulation requiring Financial Institutions to comply with new minimum standards to prevent risks and vulnerabilities. The customer was also concerned about rising costs to manage and maintain existing systems that were creating performance bottlenecks for their users and their customers.
The first priority was to identify and implement technologies and processes so the customer would comply with New York State Cybersecurity regulations. The Contour team immediately scheduled on-site meetings with executive management and the current IT team to discuss strategy and design.
After several discussions to discuss requirements and budget, Contour was given the green light to move forward with their strategy. The Contour team implemented a Virtual Data Center (VDC) that would replace existing systems and eliminate performance bottlenecks to ensure their users and customer would have the best possible experience when accessing their systems. Contour layered their Managed Services on top of the new Virtual Data Center to help with daily management so the internal IT team could focus on application development and business processes. The new environment included a comprehensive Backup as a Service (BaaS) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) strategy to ensure the resiliency of their data. It also included Multi-Factor Authentication to address the New York Cybersecurity regulations. Contour also provided a fully managed, secure Desktop as a Service (DTaaS) solution so the business users could easily access their applications from any device and any location with an internet connection.

Energy/Utility company based in Houston, TX with 1000+ employees.
The customer was in the beginning stages of a complex divestiture from a major North American Oil and Gas company which required a complete overhaul of their business and IT environment. This also required that the company comply with NERC/CIP regulations. The customer also voiced concerns about single points of failure in their existing environment and mentioned the need for an Active/Active solution to span across the East and West coast for high availability.
Considering the situation, the customer was looking to rebuild their entire environment which gave Contour the opportunity to source new technology and build a solution that met their Active/Active requirement. Additionally, because the company was divesting from their parent company, they needed to rebuild their IT team to ensure they could intelligently manage the new solution. Together, Contour and the customer identified all the requirements and designed a solution that would comply with NERC/CIP regulations.
Contour presented an Active/Active, Dedicated Private Cloud (DPC) solution to meet all NERC/CIP requirements. Contour’s Technical Writer also provided complete documentation and updated all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to help with compliance and audit. Contour also included a full suite of Managed Services to address the company’s concern of not having a complete IT team to manage the new environment. The company could now rely on Contour’s 24x7x365 Network Operations Center to provide support for all of their IT needs.

Global manufacturing and distribution company based in Jersey City, NJ with 3000+ employees.
The customer had been managing a large internal IT infrastructure with a small IT staff which resulted in a lot of reactive maintenance to “keep the lights on” and prevented them from developing a strategy that would allow IT to enable the business. Because the IT team was spread thin and didn’t have time to innovate, certain areas of the environment had become vulnerable. This eventually lead to a data breach which resulted in the loss of $1M.
Once the breach had occurred, the customer engaged Contour as a strategic partner to help identify vulnerabilities. Contour’s assessments identified security gaps and a lack of process to deal with such disasters. Contour worked with the customer to design a solution that would ultimately eliminate such vulnerabilities and provide a robust active/active solution to ensure data was always safe and always available.
Contour was able to provide the customer with an active/active Dedicated Private Cloud (DPC) solution that would synchronously write data to two different locations to ensure an always on solution. Additionally, Contour enhanced the customers security with sophisticated firewalls configurations to include Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention, advanced malware protection, URL filtering and application visibility. The new solution reassured the business with a proven Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Business Continuity Runbook that identified a step-by-step plan so the business and IT know how to communicate in the event of a breach or disaster.

This National Retailer had experienced rapid growth over the last year and has a small IT staff managing all internal systems. The client experienced downtime when a tractor trailer ran into a transformer outside of their office which caused exponential losses to their bottom line.
Prior to the outage, the customer was leveraging a different service provider to help maintain their existing systems. When they suffered downtime, the business advised them to evaluate new providers which opened the door for Contour. Contour sat down with the customer to discuss their vision and immediately engaged their Professional Services team to run assessments to collect data so they could propose a 3-5 year IT strategy for the business.
Contour presented the customer with a Dedicated Private Cloud (DPC) solution, with Managed Services to reduce the workload on the internal IT staff. Additionally, Contour provided a Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solution to ensure the customers data was always protected and always available in the Contour Cloud.

The customer was sold a backup and disaster recovery solution that was difficult to manage and didn’t provide an option for offsite recovery. The customer had a limited IT staff who struggled to manage the complex solution which resulted in failed backups and a lack of confidence in their overall Backup and DR solution.
The opportunity arose when the customer received a promotional email from Contour for 3-free months of Offsite backups and Disaster Recovery.
Upon completing a Backup and Disaster Recovery assessment to evaluate the customers’ requirements, Contour proposed their Backup as a Service (BaaS) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solution, and the customer leveraged their 3-free months promotion to get started on the service. The service included a DR test which addressed the customer’s concerns and gave them peace of mind that they would be protected in the event of data loss, corruption or a complete disaster.

The Customer’s Internal IT staff was overloaded with projects and was missing timelines which caused the business to lose a significant amount of money. The most critical project was to migrate 700+ terabytes from an old storage array to a new all-flash storage platform. The migrations needed to be completed in 3 weeks to avoid double payment on the existing platform as well as the new platform.
Contour met the CIO of the company at a networking event and this issue was brought up in conversation. The Contour rep confidently told the CIO that his team could meet this timeline to avoid double payment on the storage platforms and added, if Contour didn’t meet the timeline, the migration would be completely free of charge.
The Contour Team was engaged the following day and after 2 weeks the migrations were complete. The CIO of the company was so happy with Contour’s execution that he invited them in on a bid for Managed Services. Contour won the bid because of their unique ability to customize the Managed Services offering at a cost that was 30% less than the competition. The customer has since continued to work with the Contour team and is currently leveraging Contour’s Backup as a Service (BaaS) solution to get mission critical data offsite into the Contour Cloud.
